Per “Pelle” Buschmann (he/him) is a double and electric bass player based in Berlin, working across jazz, pop, and electronic music. Raised in a family of musicians, he developed an early focus on sound, groove, and ensemble playing. At fifteen, he added the double bass to the electric bass, an instrument that continues to shape his artistic direction.
Pelle has lived in Berlin since 2016. He studied at the Jazz Institute Berlin with Marc Muellbauer, Max Hughes, Heinrich Köbberling, Wolfgang Köhler and Judy Niemack, graduating in 2022. His work blends acoustic and electronic approaches, improvised music, and cross-genre production from Classical-over Jazz- to Pop-Music.
Active as a sideman, bandleader and composer, he performs in settings ranging from duos to big bands. In 2025, Pelle completed a two-week residency in Suzhou, China, performing with Denice Brooks and Thee Aretha Franklin tribute band. That same year, he became a scholarship recipient of YEHUDI MENUHIN Live Music Now Berlin e.V. and joined the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK) as a lecturer.

Per „Pelle“ Buschmann (er/ihm) ist Kontra- und E-Bassist in der Berliner Jazzszene, arbeitet aber ebenso selbstverständlich im Bereich Pop und elektronischer Musik. Er wuchs in einer Musikerfamilie auf und entwickelte früh ein präzises Interesse für Klang, Groove und Ensemblearbeit. Mit fünfzehn ergänzter er den E-Bass um den Kontrabass – beide Instrumente, prägten seine musikalische Ausrichtung bis heute.
Seit 2016 lebt Pelle in Berlin. Am Jazz Institut Berlin studierte er bei Marc Muellbauer, Max Hughes, Heinrich Köbberling, Wolfgang Köhler und Judy Niemack und schloss sein Studium 2022 ab. Seine musikalische Praxis kombiniert akustischen und elektronischen Sound, improvisierte Musik und genreübergreifende Produktionen von Klassik über Jazz bis Pop-Musik.
Als Sideman, Bandleader und Komponist ist er in Besetzungen vom Duo bis zur Big Band aktiv. 2025 spielte Pelle mit Denice Brooks and Thee Aretha-Franklin-Tribute-Band eine zweiwöchige Residency in Suzhou, China. Im selben Jahr wurde er Stipendiat von YEHUDI MENUHIN Live Music Now Berlin e.V. und übernahm einen Lehrauftrag an der UdK Berlin.
